DESCRIPTION :Iron man of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel lent his
steely strength to India’s consolidation by unifying 500 princely states in a row. The challenge
of protecting India’s integrity and sovereignty was evident. Sardar, with his all pervasive charisma,
accomplished the insurmountable task of unifying divergent ideas and culture in one string. He
became the first home minister of India to create a safe home for all. To adore his integrating
credo, the government of India decided to commemorate his birth anniversary i.e. 31st October
as the “National Unity Day’’ which is marked by observing the pledge in the spirit of
unification. The Amity University, Lucknow celebrated the National unity day and pledged to
re-affirm the sanctity of unity and integrity of India on the immortal ethos of exemplary
commitment to achieve oneness.
